JOB REQUIREMENTS: Operate spray painting and shot blasting/grinding equipment to apply protective coatings and paint to fabricated steel materials. Operate forklift and hand pallet lift to load trucks for delivery and move parts throughout the shop. Maintain a clean, organized work area to effectively get product shipped. Clean and maintain painting, coating, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment. Match shipping paperwork and packing slips to appropriate job orders and attach serial tags to products. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to read blue prints Must know how to select appropriate paint or mix paints Operate equipment to prepare steel for application of protective coatings Operate equipment to spray or coat Previous operation of overhead cranes preferred Mechanically inclined COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must possess basic math skills including fractions and decimals Must be able to read a ruler PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 85 pounds or heavier. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. Ensure that safe work practices are followed and adhered to.
