Purpose Statement

sa.global is looking for an Industry Practice Manager to manage the UK P&L for a dedicated Industry Channel, overseeing project achievement in their industry channel, and ensuring delivery resources under their responsibility are used optimally, as well as taking care of the quality and efficiency of delivery services provided to clients.

The Industry Focus for this role will be Professional Services.

We are looking for someone who is able to lead technical and project delivery teams, develop and foster deep client relationships, establish strategic direction, and achieve financial results.

Position Overview

The Industry Practice Manager will report directly to the Head of Client Delivery and will have 4 direct reports.

This person is required to be based in the UK. Normal working hours apply to this role (9am-5:30pm UK time), however, there may be times where you need to work outside of our usual working hours.

Areas of Responsibility

  1. Financial Management of the Practices
  • Responsible for Industry P&L – project achievement to time and budget, Gross Profit target realisation/improvement

  • Full understanding of project performance Actual v Forecast for their projects portfolio

  • Responsible for theirs and Team's realisation achievement against target.

  1. Sales Support
  • Demonstrates sa.global's expertise and capabilities to clients by creating and delivering proposals, pitches, and presentations.
  1. Delivering to Customer and Project Requirements
  • Billable activities - Perform duties and role on projects(s) they are assigned to from time to time

  • Pre-Sales - Contributes to the growth and success of sa.global by participating in Business Development activities including estimations, client meetings and demonstrations

  • Holds regular reviews of all projects in their portfolio with the PM(s) assigned to their projects

  • Works closely with the PM and PMO to remedy any Amber or Red statuses within their project portfolio

  1. Implementing Consultancy and Delivery Best Practices and Processes
  • Shares insights of their industry vertical with the wider sa.global audience through briefing sessions etc.

  • Resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise

  • Fosters a collaborative and productive work environment, where the consultants can learn from each other and grow professionally

  • Demonstrate advocacy for sa.global IP, ensuring plans are in place for all practice team members to be up to speed with the latest developments

  • Drive improvements in existing processes and procedures

  • Work with Global Delivery to establish best practices in implementation methodology, consistent with the broader sa.global approach – including design, delivery, and handovers between sales and support function

  1. Resource Management
  • To deliver live projects and prepare for future pipeline

  • Work with Resource team on capacity and capability reviews and planning to meet client project demands

  • Monitor daily activities and output of the functional team

  • Work with Resource Lead and PMO to understand and optimise team realisation through forecast data analysis

  • Always maintain detailed knowledge of their team's diary assignments, ensuring that team members assignments are fully accurate at all times

  • Engage with the GSC's to support resource management of projects

  1. People Performance, Development, and Career Management
  • Support and promote the Vivid Vision and sa.global values, creating a culture of wellbeing, recognition, and aspiration that results in retaining the best employees

  • Lead, mentor, and manage their direct reports in accordance with the Leadership Oughts to achieve their deliverables and career aspirations in line with the Career Management Framework (weekly team meetings, career reviews, regular communication, etc.)

  • Responsible for recruiting into their team to meet current and future resource demands

  • Monitors their team's skills and knowledge to ensure all are fully up to date on certifications and industry trends

  • Ensure training and development activities are completed (both role specific and organizational compliance)

  • Evaluate their consultants on an ongoing basis in line with Career Management and Project timelines (directly or supporting Team Leads, if applicable)

  • Provide guidance, feedback, and support to their direct reports and ensure all their practice team are managed through 1-2-1's, mentorship, and career/performance review process

Skills and Experience

  • Industry Knowledge – specifically Professional Services

  • Focus on Continuous Improvement and Continuous Learning, including self-development

  • Demonstrated logical approach to problem solving and structured approach to introducing change into operational systems

  • Stakeholder management skills (Internal and External) and the ability to foster good working relationships with all areas of the company

  • People management skills with demonstrable ability to coach and mentor

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills

  • Strong numerical, analytical, and MS Excel skills

  • Self-driven and self-motivated

  • Proven ability to work well and lead teams under pressure

  • Strong attention to detail and a keen desire to deliver the highest quality solutions to customers

  • Places emphasis on client satisfaction

Travel

Occasional travel to customer sites and office in Cardiff
