Vice President of IT - CIO/CISO

The Vice President of IT - CIO/CISO is responsible for overseeing the university’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the security of information assets and aligning technology initiatives with the University mission. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President will lead Kean’s IT and security strategies to elevate and enable the university’s growth initiatives. This role will require presence to develop a new “culture of excellence” and execute a wholistic digital plan to digitize Kean University.

The Vice President serves as the senior technology leader for the University, providing vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology strategies and initiatives to minimize duplication of functions and maximize efficiencies, across all university divisions and campus locations. The Vice President is responsible for creating and managing opportunities to collaborate with departments across the university on their technology needs and deployment of services; and does related work as required. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in IT management and cybersecurity, with at least four (4) years in a senior leadership role is required. Candidate must have a strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications and security frameworks; proven experience in developing and implementing IT and security strategies; excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; experience leading international teams and an understanding of global IT operations; and experience developing and executing large scale digital transformations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of both IT management and cybersecurity.
