Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aShipper Ito join theLighting Sector Finelite Teamin Union City, CA. The Shipping I is responsible for ensuring Finelite products are shipped according to company quality, procedural and safety practices. This is a key step in delivering a high quality product to our customers according to the promised delivery date. The work schedule adjusts according to the Production schedule with frequent changes, overtime and evening/weekend hours.

What Will You Do?

  • Lift and package Finelite fixtures according to standard practices: prepare pallets for final shipment including shrink-wrapping and strapping using a mechanical strapping device with proper labeling.

  • Lift and load packaged fixtures into shipping cartons or pallets.

  • Lift and load wrapped cartons or pallets into trucks for shipment.

  • Safe, daily usage and operation of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, stretch wrap and tape dispensers.

  • Ensure accuracy of all inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Ability to reconcile inbound and outbound shipment discrepancies.

  • Daily warehouse organization and clean up.

  • Ensure all work procedures and safety regulations are followed.

  • Communicate in person and via email within and outside the Logistics Department, including outside.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • High school diploma plus 1 year warehouse shipping and receiving experience; college a plus.

  • Clean and valid California drivers license, Class C.

  • Proven experience and ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as sit down and stand up forklifts, electric and manual pallet jacks and stretch wrap/tape dispensers, RF Scanners, etc.

  • Posses valid forklift safety certification.

  • Ability to handle the physical demands of the position; standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, extended work hours, and work in a non-climate controlled warehouse.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Must display high level of attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous experience communicating within the company and with outside groups via email.
