Aerotek HVAC Technician in Union City, California

Description:

A Food Manufacturer is looking for an experienced HVAC Technician with at least 5 years of experience in Production machine repair, PLC troubleshooting, installation & repair of motors. The HVAC Tech must have mechanical skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.

• Comply with all legislated and relevant laws and regulations for safety and quality including lockout tag out, GMP, HACCP, Allergen and company specific policies and procedures.

• Maintain work area and equipment, ensure clean, sanitary and orderly conditions, and apply 5S principals. Ensure tools and equipment is in good working order; report any defective materials, missing or damaged tools to the supervisor.

• Correctly complete any required reports or paperwork such as production data sheets, order documentation. Perform duties as assigned. Some ongoing duties include those listed below but are not inclusive to this position.

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize mean time between failures. Conduct routine inspection and alignment checks of equipment, troubleshoot, adjust and repair. Ensure all paperwork is completed and submitted as required.

• Troubleshoot equipment reviewing work requests to determine potential nature of problem. Verify troubleshooting analysis by disassembly and inspection of components using established procedures in accordance with applicable standard and guidelines.

• Support engineering and maintenance team during project instillations and start-up of new equipment. Provide input to help improve processes and ensure their reliability.

• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of equipment; diagnose malfunctioning systems, locate the cause of the breakdown and repair. Respond timely to any electrical breakdown. Locate source of problem by observation, testing, talking with operator.

• Provide maintenance assistance during routine and emergency shut-downs.

• Operates within the core values of respect and care for others.

Must Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of HVAC Systems- Troubleshooting, Repair, & Installation.

  • Technical Proficiency- mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic.

  • Refrigeration knowledge

  • GMP

  • System Monitoring

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Three (5+) years of experience in production machine repair.

• PLC troubleshooting, installation and repair of motors. Perform mechanical skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.

• Employee must be able to accomplish the Essential Duties and Responsibilities to be competent in the job

• Basic use of computer, tablet, scanner, iPad for recording information

• Able to read and write English to review and prepare shipment paperwork/documents

• Able to drive forklift to move product
