We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer 3 with a strong background in complex electrical projects and power generation to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in designing medium voltage (MV) substations, power distribution systems, mission-critical datacenter infrastructure, and industrial process power systems. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in delivering innovative and reliable electrical designs that meet the demanding requirements of diverse projects.
Responsibilities
MV Substation Design: Lead the design and engineering of medium voltage (MV) substations, including equipment selection, layout, protection and control schemes, grounding systems, and cable routing. Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Power Distribution Design: Develop comprehensive power distribution designs for various projects, optimizing efficiency and reliability while accounting for load calculations, cable sizing, switchgear selection, and protective devices.
Mission-Critical Datacenter Design: Spearhead the electrical design aspects of mission-critical datacenters, focusing on redundancy, fault tolerance, and seamless operation. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate power infrastructure with cooling and backup systems.
Industrial Process Power Design: Design and engineer industrial process power systems, considering equipment specifications, power quality, surge protection, harmonics mitigation, and integration of automation and control systems.
Assist with the analysis, evaluation, engineering, and implementation of system improvements, optimization, and deployments.
Develop and implement designs for large, complex multi-site data center infrastructure and virtualized environment solutions.
Document designs, and changes to infrastructure environments including physical/logical drawings, engineering design plans, implementation plans, transition plans, test plans, and failover plans.
Implement, test, and operate large complex data center and virtualized compute, storage, and network environments.
Perform security updates to hardware and software to ensure the security posture across all systems implemented and managed.
Research, prototype, and develop emerging technologies by working closely with industry partners and OEMs to implement the latest and best-in-bread capabilities to meet the customers emerging needs.
Qualifications
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
Proven experience (6+ years) in designing complex electrical projects, with a focus on MV substations, power distribution, datacenter infrastructure, and industrial power systems.
Strong proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, etc.).
Solid understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC) and their application in electrical designs.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
Project management experience is a plus.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information ; Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance with federal government.
