NORTHERN BLAIR COUNTY REGIONAL SEWER AUTHORITY Assistant Sewer Maintenance Technician in Tyrone, Pennsylvania
The Northern Blair County Regional Sewer Authority is hiring full time Assistant Sewer Maintenance Technician.
Responsibilities include assisting in all phases of our wastewater collection system. Preferred is a PA DEP class E 4 wastewater license or must be able to secure within 12 months of hiring.
Previous mechanical or technical skills relating to a field that can be essential to wastewater collection systems is a plus. Applicants must be able to lift over 50 pounds, demonstrate the physical ability to withstand walking or standing for long periods of time, bending, reaching, and to perform work in all weather conditions.
Position requires the ability to be on site within a half an hour for emergency call outs. Mechanical ability sufficient to operate pumps, valves, motors, and other mechanical equipment related to system operation and maintenance. Ability to collect and record testing samples, knowledge and ability to understand the sewage collection system, basic concepts of sewage standards and regulations, company procedures and basic mechanical and automated control systems. Ability to communicate in an effective manner both oral and written with the public as well as Authority personnel. Read and understand instructions, safety rules, and comply with company polices including the attendance and safety policies. A valid Pa driver's license is required.
