The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's Youth Safety & Permanency Division’s Child Welfare Program currently has a vacancy for aTechnical Records Specialist 1inTwin Falls. This position provides technical records support to professional staff within the Department’s Child Welfare Program. This incumbent will need a special eye for attention to detail, be organized, self-motivated, with good customer service skills.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Gather information, make decisions, resolve problems, and respond to inquiries.

  • Utilize independent judgment and discretion as to the methods, policies, and procedures used to complete assignments.

  • Perform specialized support work that involves an extensive in-depth knowledge of the program.

  • Review, evaluate, approve, and process records and/or documents.

  • Explain requirements, processes, and procedures to customers.

  • Manipulate and update manual and/or computerized records systems.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.   • Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors. Typically gained by one year of full-time work experience.

  • Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems. Typically gained by one year of full-time work experience.

  • Experience interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments. These complex decisions could have affected the social or economic well-being of others or would result in a service or action being denied. Typically gained by one year of work experience.

  • Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system. Typically gained by six months of work experience.
