Our client is currently seeking a qualified Research Scientist to join their team onsite in Tuskegee, AL. This will be a 12-month contract opportunity. This role will assist the client in their efforts to be a sustainable organization committed to excellence. This position would be an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform research / development tasks on artificial intelligence and machine learning projects

• Support research activities on projects related to tactical autonomy

• Perform research / development tasks on Computer Engineering / Computer Science, (e.g. Computer vision, data mining, and robotics) Computer Vision and Control Systems and / or mechatronics projects

• Perform modeling and simulation of engineering systems

• Conduct design, development, integration, and testing of engineering systems (e.g., UAS, robots, etc.)

Skills and Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Electrical / Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related Engineering fields

• Experience writing code using MATLAB, Python, or another scripting language is required

• Experience with digital transfers required

• Knowledge of hourly reporting, Accounts Payable

• Experience in scientific computation and electronic instrumentation is desirable

• Experience with C++ or another compiled language is desired

• Ability to obtain and report research results in a timely manner

• Ability to lead undergraduate students in support of logistics and research operations

• Previous higher education experience is a plus

• Must have good communication skills
