Phifer Inc. Extruder Operator in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

JOB SUMMARY:
The Extruder Operator positionis responsible for the operation of an extruding line designed to extrude thermoplastic materials according to specifications for use in various applications. Management may assign additional duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Will set up and operate machines to extrude thermoplastic materials according to specifications as documented
- Will install dies, machine screws, and sizing rings using hand tools by reading and performing instructions
- Will set up lines according to order sheets and perform quality inspections as documented
- Will monitor winder detail screens, doff packages, and adjust yields as needed
- Will splice yarn and maintain log on proper water temperature and levels
- Will perform maintenance on extruding line and maintain data sheet and yield log as documented
ACCEPTABLE EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer a high school Diploma or GED
- Assessed on the TABE in reading and mathematics at an 8th grade equivalency or higheror have a Silver National Career Readiness Certificate
- Prefer 5+ yearswork experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
- Prefer knowledge of extruding operations
