R&D Function is looking for a R&D Chemist for Assay Development.

The R&D Chemist in Radiometer works as part of a team, developing new immunoassay products. This involves solving problems within development projects, taking new perspective using existing solutions and challenging the old ways to also improve our own processes. This position is part of the Radiometer Turku Oy located in Turku, Finland and the position will be hybrid work. The position is a temporary parental leave replacement, and the estimated duration of the temporary contract is until end of May 2025. We believe in designing a better, more sustainable workforce. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in which you can work part-time at the Company location identified above and part-time remotely from your home. You will be a part of the Assay Development team and report to the Senior Manager, Assay Development. You will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and approving documents according to company standard operating procedures. Furthermore, the position involves data analysis, solving problems within development projects, creating, and modifying laboratory tests and providing informal guidance in laboratory to team members. R&D Chemist has also close cooperation with other Radiometer Turku’s operation functions like production teams, production planning, projects, and new product introduction. Effective collaboration with Radiometer Medical in Copenhagen is also needed. We can promise that the tasks will bring a new lesson every day.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • MSc in Life Sciences or chemistry engineering.

  • Experience of new product development in IVD, pharma or other regulated industry.

  • Fluent English (proficient in written and spoken language).

  • Technical writing skills.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Quality management system and regulatory requirements of IVD industry, such as IVDR or FDA

  • New product development process for IVD products from feasibility to submission

  • Conceptual knowledge of sandwich immunoassays or other specified field, and capability to broaden skills to other laboratory methods and immunoassay concepts.
