Job Title: Vessel Welder

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Vessel Welders with MIG and flux welding skills to join our team on the 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 5am-3:30pm. This position requires passing a Code Vessel test: 6G sch 40 6” pipe MIG root flux fill cap 45 degree.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.

• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.

• Set up components for welding according to specifications, such as cutting material with powered saws to match measurements.

• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.

• Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces.

• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).

• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.

• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and pipe welding.

• Ability to pass the Code Vessel test: 6G sch 40 6” pipe MIG root flux fill cap 45 degree.

• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

• Knowledge of welding safety standards and procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and precision in welding tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with operating angle grinders and other welding preparation tools.

• Ability to align components accurately using calipers and rulers.

• Capability to work in various welding positions, such as vertical, horizontal, or overhead.

• Experience in repairing machinery through welding.

Work Environment

This position is based in a fabrication shop that is not climate controlled. The work environment involves working with various welding equipment and tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
