ONE Gas, a premier natural gas distribution company with its corporate offices in Tulsa, OK, is looking for an intern to join our Environmental Health and Safety team. ONE Gas EH&S interns receive challenging and exciting project assignments as well as opportunities to network with other interns and company leaders. ONE Gas interns are placed within departments and given the opportunity to experience the type of work they might encounter in a full-time position through projects, on-the-job assignments, job shadowing and presentations. ONE Gas internships offer a competitive environment that exposes students to project management and teamwork experiences.

Work assignments are anticipated to be located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a hybrid work schedule.

Position Requirements:

What You Will Do

  • Assist with the implementation of environmental health and safety programs.

  • Support the development of EH&S related content and training. Conduct and present EH&S related content and training to include safety meetings, incident reviews, regulatory training, and other topics that EH&S may oversee.

  • Assist with ensuring procedural compliance with various regulatory bodies and ONE Gas programs and regulations related to environmental health and safety.

  • Assist in conducting applicable regulatory training, including new employee training (as specified by position).

  • Analyze and interpret data from accident and loss event reports to identify causes, trends and relationships with direction.

  • Assist in the development of engineering and administrative controls to eliminate hazards and causes of exposures, accidents, and loss events and to reduce the probability or severity of injuries and illnesses.

  • Contribute to periodic and systematic evaluation (i.e., auditing) of hazard control and hazard control program effectiveness.

What You Will Need

Prefer students who are projected to graduate in December 2025 or May 2026 with a degree in Fire Protection & Safety Engineering Technology or Environmental Health and Safety but may consider other applicable majors.

Prefer students to have a GPA of above 2.9 as well as involvement in extracurricular and community support activities, particularly those demonstrating leadership. Prior work experience (internships, summer or part-time work while attending school, etc.) is also preferred.

Timeline

Applications for our summer internship program open in August. We are recruiting interns beginning in September. Interviews follow campus career fairs. Offers are typically extended to students by the end of October or early November.

Compensation: All ONE Gas internship positions are paid. We offer a fair and competitive pay rate.

Housing Assistance: Based on the location of your assignment vs. your college and/or primary residence, you may be eligible to receive housing assistance.
