PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $27.40-$33.46 hourly. The full Pay Range is $21.25-$39.57 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As a Consumer Loan Servicing Title Specialist, you'll ensure BECU’s interest in collateral is perfected through seamless title processing. You'll work directly with state licensing agencies, collateral management vendors, and members to handle title maintenance requests and perfect collateral. Your attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and commitment to member satisfaction will directly contribute to BECU’s success, ensuring timely and proficient processing in accordance with our high standards. Your work will be crucial in safeguarding the assets of both the credit union and its members.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Perfect Collateral Titles: Manage the title processing function to ensure BECU’s interest in collateral is properly perfected.

  • Resolve Title Issues: Address and resolve member title-related problems following credit union policies and complying with state and federal regulations.

  • Maintain Knowledge of Titling Laws: Stay up-to-date on Washington State titling laws, and research requirements for out-of-state licensing agencies as needed.

  • Provide Outstanding Member Service: Deliver prompt, efficient, and courteous service, ensuring member issues are resolved quickly and completely.

  • Promote BECU Products: Increase member awareness of our financial services by providing information and helping achieve cross-selling goals.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with various credit union departments and members to secure proper documentation for licensing and perfecting titles.

  • Monitor and Report Trends: Track title issues and discrepancies, reporting trends to management to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Execute Title Transactions: Handle tasks such as loan adjustments, lien releases, and vehicle title perfection while working with relevant state agencies.

  • Ensure Quality and Compliance: Perform quality control functions, recommend process improvements, and maintain accurate records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum two years of experience working in customer service.

  • Minimum one year of experience working in the financial services industry, vehicle/vessel title agency, or dealership.

  • Proficiency in performing in a multi-tasked environment with strong organizational and technical skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with effective solutions.

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient math and basic accounting skills.

  • Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with consumer lending.

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member while using discretion and sound judgment in decision-making.

  • Capable of prioritizing tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in resolving complex problems by asking good questions and probing for necessary information.
