Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Electrification team is at the forefront of developing key technologies to help our customers build a better, more sustainable world. Our innovative products are shaping the future of electrified mine sites globally. As a Sr. Engineering Project Team Leader, you’ll be at the helm of multiple, complex projects that span various functions, organizations, products, and value chains. Your leadership will drive success and innovation across the board.

What you will do:

Strategic Development: Craft and develop project scopes that tackle business challenges and seize new opportunities.

Resource Coordination: Seamlessly coordinate resources across sales, marketing, product development, value chain, and manufacturing to ensure project success.

Progress Oversight: Monitor project progress and costs meticulously, keeping stakeholders and functional areas informed, and swiftly addressing any issues that arise.

Team Leadership: Direct project staffing, inspire and motivate your team, and foster the professional growth of team members.

What Skills you will have:

Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.

Technical Excellence: Knowledge of engineering technologies and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Team Management: Knowledge of effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.

Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.

Education Requirement: A degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Top Candidates will also have:

Previous machinery or large OEM experience.

Research and development experience.

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Tucson, AZ.

Domestic relocation assistance is available.

This position may require 25 % travel.
