What You Will Do:

As a part of the Supplier Material Verification Team, this Sr Analysist will support the First Article Verification (FAV) team. This role will be responsible for triaging, evaluating, and processing supplied defects for activities that were required prior to shipment (i.e. Raytheon First Article Review and Source Inspection approval) as well as supporting return to vendor (RTV) activities. This role will specifically support the Receiving Inspection team located on our Tucson, AZ campus.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Prompt triage and review of material identified as suspect non-conforming.

  • Manage and report out on status of - FAV and Source backlog at Receiving Inspection.

  • Provide metrics on supplier opportunities associated with Inspection holds.

  • Support RTV activities.

  • Daily interaction with other cross- business teams in Raytheon to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives. These groups include technical support, manufacturing/test/design engineering, supply chain, maintenance, production control, and the program management office.

  • Ensure full compliance of company policies and procedures.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities using CORE.

  • Work directly with Raytheon suppliers to drive closure of material on hold.

  • Work with inspectors to ensure the material is moved efficiently through inspection process after engineering disposition.

  • Making decisions that can affect program build time in order maintain quality requirements.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree (B.S. in Engineering, Science, Tech, or Mathematics) or in leu of degree a minimum of 6 years of quality or manufacturing experience.

  • Two years (2) related Quality Engineering, or related engineering experience in a relevant technical discipline with understanding of engineering principles and design analysis techniques.

  • Previous experience reading technical documents, to include schematics and Mil-Spec drawings

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or operations environment/role.

  • Experience identifying root cause analysis and continuous improvement process (for example 6 sigma, Lean manufacturing, or CORE).

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications We Value:

  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make decisions with minimal supervision, goal setting, delegation, coaching, and motivating.

  • Experience in the aerospace/defense industry

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills

  • High computer literacy and with confidence and skill working with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and familiarity with Raytheon systems (PRISM, PDM, VBS)

  • Metrics-driven

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems

  • Knowledge of Supplier Quality Engineering

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
