Job Summary
The Echo/Vascular Technologist Lead is responsible for overseeing and performing diagnostic imaging procedures related to echocardiography and vascular sonography. This role ensures high-quality imaging services, supports the training and development of the technologist team, and maintains compliance with regulatory standards. The Lead Technologist collaborates with physicians and healthcare providers to deliver accurate diagnostic information, contributing to patient care and positive outcomes.
Essential Functions
Performs advanced echocardiography and vascular ultrasound exams, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate results.
Leads a team of technologists, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain a high standard of care.
Coordinates scheduling, workflow, and patient preparation to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Assists in developing and implementing protocols and procedures for imaging standards, maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Reviews and evaluates imaging quality, collaborating with physicians to confirm diagnostic accuracy and effectiveness.
Manages equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, coordinating repairs as necessary to ensure minimal downtime.
Tracks and reports key performance metrics related to imaging quality, patient throughput, and staff productivity.
Maintains accurate documentation and records, ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field required
3-5 years of experience in echocardiography or vascular sonography required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of echocardiography and vascular imaging techniques and protocols.
Leadership skills to mentor and supervise technologists effectively.
Strong attention to detail to ensure imaging accuracy and quality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
Organizational skills to manage workflow, schedules, and patient care requirements.
Licenses and Certifications
RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer required or
RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist required
