Senior/Staff Materials Management Analyst

Portland, OR

Job Function: Materials Management

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Staff Materials Management Analyst to join our dynamic team in Portland, OR. This role is critical to the success of our materials management operations, where you will develop and analyze demand forecasts, implement materials management strategies, and support procurement plans to align with our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Materials Inventory Management:

  • Utilizing best practices, provide expert guidance on materials management and inventory processes.

  • Lead teams in analyzing inventory demand, forecasting material requirements, developing and executing complex procurement plans.

  • Identify and implement innovative practices and strategies for materials management.

Program Policy and Procedures:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on inventory management.

  • Oversee the development and standardization of policies, practices, and procedures for inventory/materials management.

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on significant materials management issues.

  • Provide expert advice on resolving complex materials management challenges.

Internal Collaboration – Inventory Strategies:

  • Collaborate with various departments to enhance material management functions.

  • Oversee inventory data analysis to ensure optimal inventory levels and replenishment parameters are in place.

  • Lead the implementation of strategic inventory initiatives in partnership with internal business partners and suppliers.

Manufacturing Preorders:

  • Negotiate with manufacturers in conjunction with the procurement team to reserve manufacturing capacity for inventory requirements and complex, large-scale projects planned for the coming year(s).

Education/Experience/Certifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain with a materials management focus, business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • P4 Level: Typically 8+ years in supply chain, logistics, inventory management, or materials requirements planning.

  • P3 Level: Typically 5+ years in the same fields.

Certification : Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is preferred.

Key Competencies:

Functional Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of materials management systems and techniques.

  • Proficiency in balancing cost-effectiveness with material support.

  • In-depth understanding of FERC and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

  • Strong familiarity with electric utility industry material management operations.

  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, SQL, ERP, work management systems and asset management software.

General Competencies:

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced decision-making, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Physical and Cognitive Demands:

  • Ability to consistently apply logic and scientific thinking to solve problems and make decisions.

  • High cognitive function required to adhere to response times, deadlines, and accuracy standards.

  • Ability to work effectively under stress, adapt to change, and collaborate within a team environment.

Schedule and Attendance:

  • Ability to adhere to a pre-established work schedule, including variable hours, long hours, and on-call shifts as needed.

  • Ability to work during severe weather conditions and meet attendance standards.

Physical Capabilities:

  • This position requires a valid driver’s license and a history of safe driving practices.

  • Frequent driving/travel within the service territory.

  • Regular computer use throughout the work shift.

  • Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment: Primarily office-based.

PGE supports hybrid flexible work arrangements; and will have a combination of in-the-office and working offsite. This individual will need to be located within 75 miles from job location and will need to work in-the-office at least one day a week. However, these arrangements may change due to business needs or changes in responsibility.

Compensation Range:

$87,225.00 - $173,875.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
