Job Title: Electromechanical Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electromechanical Technician to accurately and safely assemble electromechanical assemblies in accordance with drawings, written, or verbal instructions. The role includes inspecting and testing subassemblies, packaging finished goods, material handling, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
Read and understand bill of material structure; escalate errors or discrepancies to appropriate personnel
Visually inspect components for flaws/damage and escalate issues to appropriate personnel
Assist with miscellaneous tasks as assigned, including packaging finished goods, material handling (kitting), and warehouse cleanup and organization
Maintain commitment to quality and safety
Participate in the 5S program to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Communicate ideas and facts in a professional manner to all stakeholders
Regularly perform repetitive tasks and sit or stand for long periods of time
Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
Upload component firmware according to written instructions
Adhere to the company’s redline process to document any as-built changes
Maintain accurate accounting of project materials and report any discrepancies
Rework and/or repair equipment and products as instructed
Participate in the development of work instructions, including writing simple work instructions, cutsheets, or assembly notes
Safely use advanced tooling (power tools, CableEye, etc.)
Identify the need for, and assist in, the development of tools/jigs to facilitate assembly processes
Operate and maintain test fixtures, devices, and test cables
Perform field service as needed
Navigate 3D CAD/e-drawings as an aid to assembly
Perform full system cold checks using a schematic ('continuity checks')
Obtain company-sponsored high-voltage electrical safety training to act as a 'qualified' worker to safely perform hot checks for new systems
Possess advanced or expert level proficiency in the layout, routing, and termination of wires for UL 508A electrical panels
Possess advanced or expert level proficiency in building cables/wire harnesses that conform to IPC 620 standards
Assemble 24V safety circuits (e-stops, light curtains, status lights, sensors)
Identify continuous improvement opportunities for the production team and take a leadership role in continuous improvement activities
Perform advanced troubleshooting for electromechanical assemblies (motors, cables, electrical panels, mechanical assemblies)
Assume a leadership role on first article projects as assigned
Act as a leader for the entire production team, upholding values, ethics, and commitments to quality and safety
Occasionally work with the engineering department on proof of concepts
Essential Skills
Mechanical assembly
Cable harness assembly
IPC 620 certification
Wire harness assembly
Troubleshooting electromechanical assemblies
Electrical schematics/blueprints reading
Soldering
Proficiency in using hand and power tools
Testing circuits
2+ years of assembly or building experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to use hand and power tools
Ability to read blueprints/schematics
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly
Ability to strip, crimp, and splice electrical wires
Ability to build mechanical subassemblies using various fastening methods
Ability to torque fasteners to proper specifications and sequence
Ability to route cables and secure wiring throughout systems
Ability to attach labels or name plates to assemblies, components, or cables
Ability to measure dimensions to verify proper clearance of parts
Ability to use appropriate tooling/fixtures for proper assembly
Ability to verify mechanical functionality
Ability to test for electrical continuity using a voltmeter

Work Environment
Work in a large warehouse/production/manufacturing facility. Individual work stations are currently under construction, but will include hand and power tools to assemble mechanical components. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and regular performance of repetitive tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of TUALATIN, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00
