Kettering Medical Center Culinary Associate II Team Lead - Troy - Culinary/Nutrition - PRN/Varied in Troy, Ohio

The Culinary Associate II Team Lead role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Coordination of the Culinary/Nutrition Care operational team while providing outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships

  • Ensuring critical point maintenance (timeliness, quality, service and safety)

  • Redirecting and training team members as needed to meet operational needs

  • Optimizing work environment by assisting with the development of action plans which address staffing/performance issues

  • Assisting with staffing/scheduling coverage

  • Serving patients, family members, employees and physicians appetizing, fresh meals with efficiency and in a caring a courteous manner

  • Preparing wholesome, high quality meals

  • Receiving and managing stock/inventory in the kitchen, nursing units and other hospital departments

  • Ensuring the safe handling and care of workspace and food

  • Cleaning and sanitizing cooking pans, utensils, dishes and equipment

  • Sweeping and mopping floors

Applicants must have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • At least 3 years’ experience working with/in a customer service driven team

  • Ability to develop relationships and give direction through verbal and/or written communication

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time

  • Ability to push and pull wheeled carts

  • Ability to read and write English and follow oral and written directions

  • Ability to tolerate frequent temperature changes working with and around equipment that generates heat, steam, and cold


  • This position may require working every other weekend and every other holiday
