Job Summary

The Supervisor of Environmental Services is responsible for ensuring Institute standards of cleanliness in assigned academic or residential areas, including Residence Halls, apartments, classrooms, labs, offices and service areas, with a focus on quality of services and customer satisfaction. This position oversees the performance of all the duties of assigned staff including the safe operation of equipment and usage of chemicals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and three (3) years of experience in institutional cleaning services or related experience

  • Or

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in institutional cleaning services or related experience

  • PLUS

  • Experience must include three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity. Supervisory experience may include experience as a lead worker, project coordinator, or other similar role. Supervisory experience may be independent of institutional cleaning experience.

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to use a personal computer (Word, Excel, Outlook including job specific software)

  • Excellent customer service skills

Shift

Environmental Services: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Travel

Local travel between campus locations only

Driving

Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $60,000- $70,000

This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
