Unity House Crisis & Rural Court Advocate in Troy, New York

Are you looking to assist families impacted by Domestic Violence in the rural Rensselaer County?

Please consider our Crisis & Rural Court Advocate position located primarily in our rural satellite office in Hoosick Falls.

Hours typically are Mon- Fri 9-5 with Over Time potential. Position may be eligible for sign on bonus!

Responsibilities:

Provide rural population crisis intervention.

Provide resources to assist the family with safety planning,

Assist with finding links to outside agencies and referrals.

Community outreach to those seeking assistance in the community.

Provide support to survivors of domestic violence in civil and family court proceeding.

Create an environment of inclusion and belonging.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in human services, criminal justice, or related field preferred but not required. Must have high school degree. 1-2 years experience in domestic violence or human services preferred. Reliable transportation. Valid and clean NYS driver license. Must be able to multi-task, work independently and connect with the community.
