Project Management Specialist sought by Schaeffler Group USA Inc. in Troy, MI. 

Position Duties: Actively manage Engine Systems projects as identified in the New Projects Meeting (NPM). Have a complete understanding of the Planisware 6 requirements and actively monitor and manage this documentation to support the successful completion of the project relating to Quality, Timing, and Cost (QTC). Actively manage the engineering project budget through co-ordination of required tasks and work with sub-project managers. Have a complete understanding of the Windchill documentation requirements and ensure all documents have been uploaded and released by the project team as necessary to meet the project gateway timing. Report project status to Schaeffler management. This can include monthly meetings with project sponsor, monthly update presentations provided to support team of CEO -- North America, quarterly project reviews with Business Unit (BU), Product Line (PL), and European Automotive CEO as well as NA team. Track and monitor all project changes which include but are not limited to product design changes, project scope changes or budget adjustments. Work with the internal sales department to monitor component costs, and report any changes as necessary. Work with Sales and Controlling departments to ensure a PPA is completed to set baseline profitability and IRR for the project. Work with the project team to identify project risks and establish an action plan to mitigate identified risks.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in the position offered, as a Project Engineer, or in a project management related position. Two (2) years of experience must include: Automotive Product Development Processes from design phase to production; managing automotive mechanical, electro mechanical components for ball screw mechanism products; developing project resource cost planning and timing; using Gantt chart, work breakdown structure, project deliverables on MS project/Planisware; collecting documentation for gateways submission of automotive process and submission to software including Teamcenter, SAP, and windchill; developing risk planning and action strategy with project team using FMEA and DFM tools; developing communication plan between internal and external parties to develop effective project plan; executing business case plan or RFQ as per customer technical and customer requirement and reviewing with internal management team; and developing root cause analysis plan with fish bone diagram, 5whys tools in team for risk mitigation strategies. Up to 20% travel required to various and unanticipated Schaeffler locations and client sites throughout the U.S. Telecommuting permitted two days per week.
