Machine Operator
The machine operator performs essential job functions within the manufacturing department. This position is responsible for ensuring continuous product flow. This position is also involved in new product development.
Duties
Set-up and operate machines of a similar type (conventional or CNC) on a regular basis (includes tooling changes and programming CNC controls)
Preventive maintenance on machinery
Work with minimal support or supervision
Select appropriate feeds, speeds and tooling
Assist in problem-solving and troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns and production efficiency issues
Assures appropriate material and tools are available
Support Lean Enterprise, Quality, Safety and Productivity initiatives through appropriate levels of participation
Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Must obtain knowledge of the general Health and Safety procedures of Kennametal Inc.
Good communication skills
Must be mechanically inclined and able to demonstrate strong mathematical skills
