Waltonen Business Development Manager - Aerospace & Defense Tooling in Troy, Michigan
Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team! We are looking for individuals with a proven network of contacts or clients within the aerospace, defense, and government industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, preferably with experience in tooling sales, and possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Responsibilities
Build, grow, and leverage a diverse client base beyond the automotive sector, focusing on industries such as Aerospace, Defense, Government, and Energy.
Utilize your network to identify and secure new business opportunities.
Drive sales growth through proactive engagement with customer contacts.
Develop tailored sales strategies to meet client needs and exceed sales targets.
Prepare and present compelling responses to RFPs, RFIs, and unsolicited proposals.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals are comprehensive and competitive.
Develop and implement strategic account and market segment plans to achieve company revenue goals.
Track and report on sales performance metrics.
Represent Waltonen Engineering at industry trade shows and events.
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of relevant sales experience.
Established network of contacts outside the automotive industry, such as in aerospace, defense, government, etc.
Preferred experience in the aerospace or defense tooling industry.
Superior sales ability, management skills, and leadership qualities
Excellent verbal and written skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Financial, business planning, presentation, and negotiation skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
Expertise in Microsoft Suite, CRM, and social media tools
A willingness to travel as necessary
