Summary About the Position: Responsible for coordinating a full range of public communications activities including visual information support, writing news and feature articles, consisting of photographs and text, producing press releases, news summaries, social media content and intranet communication and marketing material to promote and market U.S. Army Public Health Command-Pacific (PHC-P) and its Public Health Activities within the Area of Responsibility (AOR), Indo-Pacific Command. Responsibilities Identifies subject matter experts and conducts interviews to produce news and feature articles in compliance with AP style guide as assigned by supervisor within deadline on a wide range of Department of Defense Public Health issues. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using electronic media to convey the organization's mission role in national defense and health care initiatives, utilizing social media tools, and respond to media queries of a sensitive nature. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Education Some fedeal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the erequired expereince in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using expereince alone- no substitution of education for expereince is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
