NJEDA Social Media & Internship Program Recruiter in Trenton, New Jersey

Overview

Job Summary

Responsible for supporting social media strategies and implementing recruitment and staffing initiatives, particularly focused on intern recruitment. Duties include sourcing and interviewing candidates, monitoring social media platforms, assessing and reporting on recruitment metrics, and maintaining excellent relationships with hiring managers and candidates to ensure that open positions are filled efficiently and cost-effectively.

$58,080 - $65,340

Note: The NJEDA currently offers a hybrid work schedule for up to 2 days of telecommute work from home. To participate, you will be required to have high speed home internet access and a managers approval. This program does not supersede the "New Jersey First Act", which requires newly hired NJEDA employees to establish and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruiting and Staffing Strategy:

  • Execute and measure NJEDA’s recruiting and staffing strategy.

  • Contribute to the development of NJEDA's employment brand.

  • Identify the best sources for candidates to ensure a robust talent pipeline.

  • Attract, develop, and maintain relationships with interns as part of the pipeline strategy.

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to maximize current talent usage and minimize the need for new positions or temporary employees.

  • Assist hiring managers in defining jobs, reviewing job descriptions, and identifying appropriate candidate sources.

  • Create and maintain a structured process for attracting, screening, interviewing, and selecting the best candidates.

  • Consult with hiring managers on interviewing and selection processes, and assist with understanding and recommending compensation structures.

  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs within the context of their mission and develop strong rapport with key department leaders.

Social Media and Brand Support:

  • Prepare and develop social media content to support and enhance the organization's brand and operations.

  • Assist in developing and executing social media strategies and campaigns for recruitment.

  • Create engaging content for various social media platforms and coordinate posting strategy and timing with the communications team.

  • Monitor social media channels, responding to comments and messages promptly.

  • Track and analyze engagement metrics to make data-driven decisions.

  • Assist in creating reports and presentations for social media campaigns.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistency in messaging across all channels.

  • Work with IT and the Director of Recruitment to create an NJEDA interns webpage.

Job Requisitions and Applicant Tracking:

  • Manage job requisitions/positions and place ads/communications for open positions on various platforms including the EDA website, LinkedIn, Twitter, internal sites, Monster, state websites, etc.

  • Conduct detailed interviews using face-to-face behavioral-based methodologies, interpret assessment tool outcomes, and organize post-interview debriefs with interview teams.

  • Handle pre-employment duties including preparing offer letters, testing, references, degree verification, and processing background checks.

  • Manage the applicant tracking database, produce reports on overall recruiting performance, and recommend modifications as needed.

  • Assist with ADP Workforce Now onboarding activities and the employee orientation program, suggesting modifications when necessary.

Outreach and Program Support:

  • Oversee, organize, and attend job fairs.

  • Assist with the intern program as needed.

  • Collaborate with the Department of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to create and ensure diversity and inclusion plans for recruitment.

  • Provide weekly recruiting reports with updates on candidate progress.

  • Provide guidance on company-initiated events.

  • Promote teamwork and communication to foster an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment among division, EDA staff, and external customers.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Complete annual and semiannual self-assessments as required.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; proficient in grammar, spelling and editing; and foster communications with business professionals and EDA staff

  • Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constrains with little or no supervision

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and EDA staff

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to support diversity within the organization

  • Demonstrates respectful behavior and promotes teamwork and communication to encourage an interactive, cooperative, collaborative and customer focused work environment among division, EDA staff and external customers

  • NJEDA utilizes Microsoft as the core application platform and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is preferred

    Preferred Qualifications

    Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and/or equivalent related experience;

  • Experience with recruitment practices & interviewing;

  • Understanding of employment laws as they apply to recruiting;

  • 2-5 years of experience working in a Human Resources, Administrative Operations or other related field.

    Advanced degree or industry specific certification may be substituted for 1 year of experience

  • Ability to work outside normal business hours, as needed

    Travel

  • As necessary to events, meetings, businesses, etc.

  • 15% -25% during highest recruitment periods

    Certificates and Licenses Required

  • License:Staff are required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essentials duties of the position.
