Material Area Supervisor Description: The Material area supervisor will be responsible for managing small work teams in a unionized, warehousing environment. Responsible for ensuring team safety; building teams and training / allocating Client; driving and implementing continuous improvement solutions to improve product quality and reach throughput and cost targets; and ensuring team morale. The selected candidate's responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating all activities to achieve business metrics.
- Provide a safe, secure, and engaging work environment that fosters team member involvement and creativity.
- Embrace and practice Stellantis Leadership Principles
- Provide feedback, coaching, and training to associates as needed.
- Analyze root causes and execute countermeasures for daily work challenges while implementing safe work practices and preventative countermeasures.
- Utilize kaizen activities to drive continuous process improvements.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety with team members, peers, and senior management.
- Monitor and track parts receipts and deliveries.
- Record and manage in system requirements that communicate with the Assembly plants.
- Ensure the shipping plan is met, analyzes issues with other roles, drives and implements continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure a safe workplace, leads the Team to improve Safety in the area and enforces the use of mandated Safety tools and procedures.
- Ensure the right allocation of the people on the job, manage absenteeism, trains and build teams.
- Actively participate and lead kaizen project activities centered on Safety, Cost, Quality and Throughput improvements and waste reduction opportunities identified through cost deployment.
Material Area Supervisor Requirements:
- 100% Onsite
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or relevant bachelor's degree and comparable experience 2+ years' experience in Supply Chain Management or similar functions
- Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
- Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required
- Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
- Previous experience working in a union environment
- Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
