Job Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Technician 1 for our In Vitro Dermal Services department located in Elvingston Science Centre, Gladsmuir (close to Edinburgh). This role would be ideal for someone who wishes to develop a technical career in science without the need for a University degree.

Your primary areas of responsibility will be receiving deliveries, transfer of items between local Charles River sites. Full training will be given in all tasks and duties.

The following are responsibilities related to the Assistant Technician 1 position:

• Receiving, booking in and storage of deliveries

• Transfer of items between local Charles River sites

• Participating in training programmes

• Maintenance of stores and general housekeeping throughout the facility

• Accurate recording and documenting of activities

The following are minimum requirements related to the Assistant Technician 1 positions:

• 5 Nat 5 qualifications including Maths and English

• Ability to work overtime including weekends and weekdays

• Have a 'can do' attitude and the ability to work as part of a team

• Hold a A clean UK driving licence

The role is physically demanding and you will be active and on your feet most of the day.

The salary for this position is £17,976. In exceptional circumstances where the candidate has relevant equivalent experience, this will be taken into consideration.
