About You

We’re seeking a result-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Engineering Manager. Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will drive the development of light-curing, filling, and dispensing equipmentby leading the time-to-market goals of New Product Introductions (NPI) through innovation and excellence in engineering fundamentals that support engineering product lifecycle management

In addition, you will:

  • Manage a robust engineering product portfolio by leading new product development through to product release, and by balancing large-scale annual NPI projects against smaller projects of change, re-application, and product improvement

  • Develop a vibrant, responsive, innovative, customer-advocating, high-performing team by exercising strong leadership and judgment skills to acquire, develop, train, coach, cultivate, and foster talented multidiscipline product development personnel

  • Foster effective and efficient Engineering Change Reviews by assuming technical design authority for legacy products, and by ensuring ECRs are complaint with design and process standards, and they achieve product rationalization, cost savings and product enhancement goals in a timely manner.

  • Foreshorten development time and enhance product performance by identifying external technology sources then cultivating effective partner relationships that extend the capabilities of the internal Equipment Engineering team

  • Drive customer advocacy by managing resources, activities, and schedules to ensure deliverables are executed and by driving evidence/data-based actions and decisions across multifunctional teams to meet commercial commitments.

  • Deliver on product quality commitments by collaborating with the Quality Assurance group to ensure the engineering team utilizes advanced quality product planning techniques that accelerate time-to-market, and release highly reliable products to end-users

  • Cultivate a team dynamic for professional and intellectual property development by encouraging team members to attend educational workshops, review professional publications, establish personal networks, and participate in professional societies, and by initiating pathfinding and research projects that anticipate then meet future needs.

Requirements

You should have:

  • BS/BA in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering – advanced degree preferred

  • Significant hands-on experience with ERP systems, JD Edwards E1 preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in electromechanical product development

  • 5+ years of experience in supervising engineering teams

  • A person who enjoys leading from a hands-on approach

  • Expertise in technical and functional specifications writing required

  • Experience with Stage-gate methodologies, APQP tactics, and DFMEA preferred

  • Experience desirable in 3D CAD systems, PDM/PLM, SolidWorks Mechanical, SolidWorks Electrical, SolidWorks EPDM Vault, Altium, and OrCAD

Salary Range: $120,000-$181,000

Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of our company's total compensation packages for employees.
