DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Food Service Supervisor, you will work together with our dietary staff to provide a seamless flow of patient meal production and service. In this position, you will supervise, coordinate, inspect, and evaluate food service work performed in food preparation and production, service, inventory control, safety, and sanitation. You can expect to train food service personnel, such as cooks, food service workers, and students, in the performance of routine food production and service. You will also determine daily staffing needs and work priorities by consulting the menu, special assignments, and attendance records. Additionally, you will attend supervisory staff meetings to discuss work and personnel problems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are as follows, with a 30-minute lunch break. You will have rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays 1st shift: 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM 2nd shift: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of paid experience in food production and/or service and successful completion of a Certified Dietary Manager course;or Two years as a Food Service Worker and/or production experience, and an Associate degree with major course work in food production and food service; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which consists of experience in an institutional setting preparing specialized therapeutic diets, or course work in food production, food service or a related field.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
