Overview

THE ROLE:

Herbalife is integrating the Logistics, Warehousing and Distribution function to build an efficient flow of goods from point of origin to point of consumption. This newly built function will work in close collaboration with the VP Global Distribution & Logistics and other Worldwide Operations functions. The regional Distribution & Logistics heads craft and drive regional Distribution & Logistics network strategies based on their respective region conditions and market nuances and ensuring alignment to the Worldwide Operations strategy. Additionally, they are responsible for managing regional Transportation, Warehousing and Distribution teams as well as transportation and warehousing service providers in the region. They are delivering exceptional distribution services & support to our distributors and members while keeping operations optimized and cost efficient, hence contributing to regional annual revenue/margin targets and success metrics.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

• Responsible for managing all warehousing, fulfillment, sales centers and pick-up point operations within the North America region ensuring excellent service to our Members.

• Responsible for effectively managing all partners in Distribution and Logistics within the North America (NAM) region in collaboration with the Indirect Sourcing team, who tender logistics & transportation services. Also collaborates with Global Sourcing and other regional Distribution & Logistics heads to leverage global service providers (FedEx, EI, etc.) to the optimal benefit of Herbalife. Assures transportation and 3PL invoice processing for timely payments.

• Responsible for the quality and timely delivery of orders to Members in North America including related communication. Works closely with the Supply Chain Planning team in improving product availability in the region, ensuring complete and timely communication on any possible deviation. Have a constant focus on possibilities to further improve operational performance and Member experience & embed “continuous improvement” as a crucial part in the operational structure and team approach.

• Collaborate with Herbalife Manufacturing (HIM), Contract Manufacturers, RM vendors and other regions to optimize domestic warehousing and international shipping / transportation. Also collaborates with HIM supporting their warehousing function regarding HIM KPI’s for RM and FG inventories (utilization, turns).

• Strategic partner for NAM management in relation to distribution network and access point optimization. Initiates proposals for service & cost improvement / optimization.

• Develop and implement cost-effective Warehousing & Logistics systems and technologies aligned with Global guidance. These technologies include but are not limited to Transportation Management Systems, Automated Parcel Manifesting, In-transit Shipment Visibility, Warehouse Management and Control Systems and Order Fulfilment Systems.

• Manages the NAM Logistics & Distribution 3PL spend over 75 million USD (excl CURA). Provide over-sight and management of departmental budgets and expenses

• Responsible for implementing global & regional policies and procedures in the NAM region, ensuring internal and legal compliance, including health & safety, inventory control, SOX and QA guidelines. Carry out responsibilities in an ethical and responsible manner. Partner with Global Trade Compliance to ensure compliance with all import, export, and trade regulations. Ensure designated facilities attain/retain C-TPAT compliance.

• Create and maintain a “Great Place To Work” environment. Develop and reward people in such way that satisfaction levels & performance are high and employability is sustainable. Prepare and implement succession plans.

• Positively represent Herbalife at business and non-business related occasions.

• Collaborate with Marketing, Events, HR and other departments as needed for non-product logistics such as materials moved to/from regional and global events, and fulfillment of gifts, awards, pins, etc.

• Supports New Product Development by providing logistics transport and handling costs, modes, distribution points, and the like to ensure accurate information for business decisions.

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM:

• Because of Herbalife’s business model (Member leadership pressure, direct deliveries to Members and their customers), high shipping service levels (accurate, complete, on-time) are critical.

• The US being the nr. 2 market in Herbalife and close to the Corporate organization does require optimal service levels and high responsiveness to requests and potential issues.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages a total of 300+ direct and indirect reports.

• Manages several outsourced logistics and sales center operations in NAM region

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Experience:

• 10-15 years of experience in supply chain environment (combination of Transportation, Warehousing and Distribution preferred).

• 5-10 years of operations experience in a leadership role.

• Deep logistics industry experience across all modes of transportation.

• Experience working in an international environment with geographically dispersed partners across various functions.

• Experience with WMS / WCS / TMS systems and warehouse automation.

Education

• Bachelor’s / master degree in logistics, supply management or operations management.

• APICS / ASCM certification(s) or equivalent (preferred)
