Senior Electrical Engineer
Under general leadership, the Senior Electrical Engineer has engineering responsibilities that include supporting development, releasing, validation testing and issue resolution in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”
This position is located on-site in our Torrance location.
Essential Functions
Ability to identify requirements, develop concepts, create schematics/ 3D CAD for electrical systems to support vehicle programs through all phases of development
Ability to use lab equipment to root cause issues on systems/ vehicles and identify solutions
CAD design activities to support R&D efforts in a product development environment
Able to design and create prototype circuit boards and harnesses
Develop, document, and implement test procedures for electrical components and wiring, including releasing process
Interface with cross-functional teams to support electrical and software testing, validation and systems integration
Develop work instructions for manufacturing operations
Support sourcing of new components with technical input
Self-motivated and able to perform tasks and projects with little supervision
Occasional travel required to support testing, supplier visits or issue resolution
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field
Six (6) or more years of related experience in automotive electrical engineering, or related field
Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certifications
Experience with Porsche air cooled engines
CATIA, or similar CAD software
Coding experience
Experience with professional engine control and data acquisition systems, hardware, and software tools such as MoTec, Emtron and AEM
Skills/Abilities and Attributes
Strong diagnostic skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
Ability to work effectively in a small group of focused and talented engineers
Good verbal and written communication skills (clear and concise technical writing)
High level of computer literacy
Experience with data analysis and interpretation
Ability to express ideas clearly and actively listen to others
Team oriented, with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to meet multiple deadlines
Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and collaborative skills with the ability to prioritize efficiently and effectively within and across departments
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Must be able to work in a seated and/or standing position for extended periods
Must be able to use fingers, hands, and arms at computer keyboard for extended periods
Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move with up to 10 lbs. of force
Must be able to wear proper PPE to protect against exposure to exhaust gases and noise
Must be able to continuously perform repetitive tasks; possess manual dexterity
Must be able to travel for business, including occasional travel by vehicle and commercial airplane
Must be able to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments – all seasons
Must be able to work non-standard working hours as required
As required, must maintain a valid California Driver’s License with a good driving record and appropriate insurance limits and/or be insurable under the Singer’s company vehicle insurance policy
Compensation
The starting salary range for this position is between $106,400 - 139,500 per year, plus an annual bonus plan. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
