Providence Inventory Control Coordinator in Torrance, California

Providence is calling an Inventory Control Coordinator who will:

  • Be accountable for managing assigned inventories for the assigned ministry or ministries through daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cycle counts, annual physical counts, requisitioning replenishments

  • Seek alternative sources and materials when necessary

  • Maintain communication with supported customers

  • Monitor supply usage and remove and dispose of obsolete or outdated products

  • Organize and lead Material Distribution/Supply Chain staff in conducting periodic inventory counts

  • Adjust quantities and locations, when necessary, and record and report discrepancies to management

  • Be accountable for the implementation of the One SCM Operations and Logistics strategy at the local ministry under the direction of the Ministry/Site Supply Chain Manager or Regional Inventory Control Manager

  • Be responsible for working with key operational stakeholders within their specific ministry as well as their supply chain peers within their specific Supply Chain Region

  • Participate in and partner with others on OSCM Operations and Logistics operational improvement efforts and programs ensuring a compliant, effective, and streamlined operational OSCM experience at the local ministry/site for all caregivers they serve

  • Be responsible for the management of all perpetual and par inventories as well as specific periodic inventories, supplies received, stored, and issued at Providence ministries within their respective ministry or site as directed

  • Serve in clinical areas (OR, Cath Lab, etc.), ensuring inventory control policies and procedures are properly implemented while working closely with clinical staff to provide excellent patient care

  • Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.

This role is an in-office position and will report into the office week over week. Providence welcomes residents to apply that live within a commutable distance of our office location listed below:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • 3+ years Supply Chain Management or Finance experience

  • Healthcare Business Operations and/or financial management experience in a healthcare setting

  • Experience standardizing disparate processes

  • Experience in process improvement methodology, change management, project management, operational improvement

  • Experience managing automated POU systems

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree in Healthcare, Business, Finance or Logistics/Supply Chain Management -OR- a combination of equivalent education / experience

  • Coursework/Training: Medical Terminology

  • Coursework/Training: Training in anatomy and physiology

  • 1+ year of Experience in a healthcare setting

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
