Mercury Systems Expert Systems Engineer in Torrance, California

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience: * Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline * Master's Degree preferred * 10+ years of Technology development experience, preferably on DoD contracts * 3+ years in a Technical Leadership Role * Ability to plan technical work * Ability to successfully lead a team * Exceptional decision-making ability * Ability to Lead as well as make Individual Contributions * Lead process improvements * Dive into and take ownership for critical issues * Attend and run engineering meetings * Negotiation and Influencing Skills * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Strong knowledge of process development in a custom design environment * Excellent analytical & critical thinking skills Responsibility Statement: Attend and run cross functional engineering meetings. Improve product hardware architecture and system level designs based on product requirements and business model. Improve functional specifications. Develop product prototype. Develop, and adhere to, resource plans, schedule, and budget. Lead development, launch and successful revenue growth of the product(s). Make strategic trade-offs in make-buy-partner technology decisions. Work with product management, market development, and customers to develop, refine, validate, and prioritize product requirements and product roadmaps. Additional Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: * Experience in the Avionics for military or aerospace domains  * Experience with requirements management tools, such as Jama  * Experience with Electrical Engineering design tools * Experience with Issue Tracking tools such as JIRA  * Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence  * Experience with configuration management and Bill of Materials systems * MATLAB programming for basic analysis  * Demonstrated ability to work well with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve issues  * Experience doing Integration and Test Activities, * Experience using Lab Test Equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators "This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations.
