Google Vendor Operations Manager, Extended Workforce Solutions in Toronto, Ontario

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10 years of experience in a technical project management or a customer-facing role.

  • Experience in change management.

  • Experience developing and leading business strategies or managing cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Influencing experience and excellent verbal and written communication, stakeholder management, organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, changing work environment with the ability to manage time efficiently and navigate ambiguity.

  • Ability to be analytical and comfortably lead high-level cross-functional conversations with decision-makers and willingness to pitch in when necessary with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of organization, internally and externally and with vendors.

The Vendor Management Office (VMO) team serves as a collaborative, cross-functional entity dedicated to partnering with diverse stakeholders across various Product Areas. Our comprehensive range of support encompasses operations consulting, vendor management (managing the organization’s relationships with its suppliers), operational reporting and analytics, cross-product area program management, and the cultivation of strategic vendor relationships on behalf of the organization. Our team's mission is to drive productivity, introduce economies of scale, efficiency, and operational diligence by leveraging state-of-the-art vendor operations methodologies. The core objective of the VMO is to optimize the value obtained from vendors while effectively managing associated risks, ultimately elevating the organization's overall performance.

You will do an in-depth search into data, uncovering valuable insights through extensive analysis. Transitioning from a detailed perspective, you will then switch gears to develop comprehensive recommendations and strategic plans. Furthermore, you will actively participate in developing and executing high-impact supplier programs. This involves driving cost negotiations, overseeing supplier performance, and conducting follow-ups to gauge the tangible results of your recommendations. This position offers a dynamic blend of strategic thinking and implementation, ensuring that your contributions have a significant impact on the organization's success.

  • Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders with supported product areas to ensure VMO is compliant while developing programs to monitor, analyze and evaluate extended workforce performance against metrics on a regular basis.

  • Lead efforts to Identify opportunities to transform vendor management processes to mature workflows, and create relevant metrics to track progress. Lead efforts to Identify process gaps across identified vendor management workflows, drive through change management, and measure improvements to existing internal and external process frameworks.

  • Develop scalable solutions, work to manage risks across the organization and develop best practices. Drive operational efficiencies by supporting supplier transitions, onboarding, contracting, etc.

  • Lead business reviews with cross-functional teams to ensure adequate service governance measures and risk-mitigating actions are robust and impactful. Provide extended workforce management guidance to our stakeholders to ensure teams adhere to governance protocol.
