BIMM Technical Architect in Toronto, Ontario

Who we are looking for
Reporting to the VP of Technology, the Technical Architects will work with an architecture team in assessing and analyzing the business and technology needs to develop models, artifacts, target-state architectures and roadmaps for our clients. The Technical Architects will play a key role in delivering our business and technology objectives and will manage several solution and domain specific architects.
These positions are for a highly technical architect, a software engineer with architecture experience across multiple disciplines. Someone who is a great mentor and coach to both the architecture and development teams, as well as a client and customer advocate with passion for designing innovative solutions that will impact some of the biggest Canadian and global brands.
Responsibilities
Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and opportunities, evaluate the feasibility of requirements, determine priorities, and come up with architecture options and a technology roadmap
Be able to work with individually or with a small team to POC ideas and their feasibility as a working solution.
Provide thought leadership on The Art of the Possible to both business and technology leaders
Identify core modernization opportunities with our clients
Mentor engineering team members on technical decision-making, and enforcing engineering practices and standards
Use your problem-solving creativity to design, architect, and develop high-end technology solutions that solve our clients' most complex and challenging problems across different industries
Manage CMS integrations, cloud migrations, technology direction and participate in clients’ digital and enterprise architecture forums
Requirements
7+ years of technology experience in an enterprise, consulting, or a web-scale product company
2+ years of hands on architecture experience. Solutioning, architecting and developing applications across multiple disciplines which can include backend microservices, microfrontend architecture, pipeline integrations, CMS/CRM systems, security, data and DevOps.
Understands and can implement thoughtful, scalable and technology best practices across both backend and frontend to deliver the best solution for your development team and the client.
Great communication and analytical skills. Comfortable in communicating with executives and presenting to Architecture Review Boards (ARB)
Experience in designing distributed applications using cloud-based platforms
Experience advising and leading a team of solution or domain specific architects
Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages, databases, integrations, etc. Ideally in a MERN stack.
Nice to have
5+ years of software development experience developing solutions ideally in react and node.js.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or similar field (STEM)
Experience with Apollo, GraphQL and Contentful
Contentful Certification
AWS or GCP Certifications
