Contributes to the overall success of the Global Payment Technology globally by designing, developing, and supporting applications using Shell Scripting, java technologies (e.g. SpringBoot, Hibernate, JPA, etc.) to support business requirements for payment processing systems
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Having good programming skill set on Shell Scripting, Java technologies (e.g. SpringBoot, Hibernate, JMS, etc.), SQL/ESQL
Knowledge on using Unix, AIX, Windows Operating system
Knowledge on backend webservices, SOAP and communication protocol (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2, Connect Direct)
Conduct testing of new software releases to ensure successful implementation with no impact to existing code base
Ensures quality of the solutions are robust, scalable and efficient to meet the needs of the business
Ability to learn new technology and being able to do production support during business hours and off hours pager duty at least one week every month
Monitor system performance, troubleshooting and fixing errors
Work in a cross functional Agile team to deliver core business and regulatory solutions
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
Having good programming skill set on Shell Scripting, Java technologies (e.g. SpringBoot, Hibernate, JMS, etc.), SQL/ESQL
Knowledge on using Unix, AIX, Windows server Operating system
Knowledge on backend webservices, SOAP and communication protocol (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2, Connect Direct)Must have knowledge of different data formats like JSON, XML
Must be open to do production support and be ready to carry pager for off-hours support for atleast one week in a month
2+ years of experience in developing and supporting custom software with Java, Shell Scripts, SQL/ESQL
