The office is the largest in our industry in Canada and boasts talent across various disciplines of marketing and advertising expertise. Publicis carries a balanced split of Canadian, U.S. and Global clients for which we are Agency of Record. Publicis supports a range of D&I actions through our Driving Change team as well as giving back to the community through a long-standing participation in the Out of the Cold Program. With a strong, active and familial culture, Pub United is the agency’s social club, hosting events as wide reaching as Curling, Trivia Nights and more.
Overview
“It’s just social”. We’ve all heard it. Felt it. And fundamentally, we’ve disagreed with it. Social has quickly become one of the most complex yet rewarding spaces in all of marketing. And we don’t think it’s slowing down anytime soon. As culture becomes dictated by social, and TikTok becomes the leading entertainment platform, we’re looking for people who can put our clients in the spotlight, with agile, creator-like content that feels like it was built for the soul of gen Z.
As a Social Content Creator, you’ll sit at the heart of low-fi creation in the agency. Immersed among a team of social strategists, trend hackers, social analysts, and social producers, you’ll be the face behind, and sometimes in front of, our client’s social channels. You’ll own content creation from end-to-end, including identifying trends, concepting social ideas, and executing, all like a content creator would. And you’ll help us redefine what best-in-class social content really looks like for the brands we touch.
Responsibilities
Work from social briefs to ideate concepts, shoot, and edit social media content with support from social strategists, creative directors, and others.
Craft unique, entertainment-driven content that looks, feels, and sounds organically like the brand, and accompanying post copy.
Act as on-camera talent when needed.
Proactively look for opportunities for brands to participate in conversations (through comments or video responses).
Post content to social channels (when needed).
Strategically weigh-in on trends and provide a POV on brand-relevancy and safety.
Collaborate with inter-agency teams including strategists, creatives, producers, account teams, and project managers.
Take feedback in stride – we win together & lose together!
Qualifications
Experience you’ll have
You are a creator. You will (likely) have a portfolio of creator like content, with a proven understanding of entertaining, platform-right content. Bonus points if you’ve worked with brands to do it.
Deep knowledge of social platforms and how to navigate them. You don’t just follow best practices, you put them to the test. Includes back-end experience with Meta Business Manager and TikTok Business Manager.
Expertise in mobile editing – ie. CapCut or similar.
Experience being on camera, including speaking to, or voiceovers for social content.
Understanding of social analytics and what they mean. You should have an ability to convert numbers into insights to make non-obvious content recommendations that resonate.
Comfort presenting ideas to senior agency and client stakeholders, with an ability to think on the fly and pivot ideas in real-time.
You are an ideal candidate if you:
Are curious by nature: you’re interested how things work and why they work that way
Have the spiciest take in the room (we want people who think differently than we do)
Are creatively driven and think of data as a vehicle to unlocking new opportunities
Have strong written and presentation skills
Set high quality standards of work for yourself and aim to get every detail right
Relentlessly want to improve and grow
Have a bias for action
