Job summary
The Productivity Program Management Office (PPMO) has been established to support the execution of key strategic projects and major initiatives focused on improving the productivity of the Canadian Bank. One of the primary goals of the PPMO is to collaborate with all businesses, and partners, to create and enhance our capacity to drive Revenue, while identifying and supporting initiatives which improve our operational efficiency and effectiveness, and contribute to an improved customer/client experience, while ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Scotiabank is looking for candidates at the Senior Manager Level, who are team-oriented, critical thinkers with a passion for solving business problems. Successful candidates will play a key role in leading business line strategic projects, managing relationships with senior management and stakeholders at all levels throughout the Bank and driving the Bank’s strategic planning process.
Key accountabilities
Analyze complex business cases, assess financial viability leading to strategic insights, cost optimization, and value-driven decision-making
Lead research and analysis and to develop compelling strategic recommendations that will help improve operational efficiency & effectiveness and improved customer/client experience
Prepare project plan to ensure deliverables and timelines are met
Gather data and perform financial analyses to diagnose issues
Create financial models to assess future state financial benefits / costs and support business case development
Manage multiple project workstreams to enable program/project execution, including leading problem- solving sessions, workshops and interviews with cross-functional and business line working team members and subject matter experts
Synthesize findings and present clear recommendations and implementation plans to ensure impactful project outcomes
Supports the execution and ongoing management of productivity enhancement initiatives through objective reporting
Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of deliverables and overall objectives
Drive the execution and ongoing management of strategic planning at the Canadian Banking business line level
Perform strategic and business analysis, identifying key issues and proposing recommendations for the Bank’s strategy at the Canadian Banking business line level
Dimensions
Responsible for conducting thorough initial / ongoing business case analysis with cross-functional collaboration and E2E all-bank lens
Skills and experience
Undergraduate degree in business or engineering; MBA or graduate business degree
Exceptional financial acumen and experience in analyzing financial data
Experience in management consulting or corporate strategy development, execution and project management preferred but not required
Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment
Ability to break a problem into logical parts with structured thinking
Exceptional presentation and written communication skills
Proven track record delivering innovative solutions from concept to change management
Exceptional planning and analytical skills, ability to discern research information / data and focus on the critical business issues
Superior interpersonal skills, leadership, and influential capabilities
Self-motivated; work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams, as both a leader and member
Highly developed relationship management skills to effectively manage relationships across the Bank, partners, and external vendors
Excellent knowledge with MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
