Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Engineer/Consultant to join one of Canada's top 5 banks to support a data and cloud team for a multitude of projects. The Senior Consultant, Data Engineering Analysis & Design is responsible for leading the functional design and development of application systems across all technologies and platforms. The role provides consultation for senior management on a wide spectrum of existing and emerging infrastructure technologies, translating user requirements to process and data requirements and developing solutions for the business with far-reaching impact. The Senior Consultant, Data Engineering Analysis & Design provides technical leadership to develop precise steps and processing logic across all platforms (Azure Databricks, Data Factory etc), ensuring the designed specifications achieve business needs. In addition, the role provides comprehensive senior level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams. The role makes technology selection decisions that are often made in situations where business requirements are not completely defined. At times, high level solution needs to be determined based on business requirement which is defined only at high level, and/or would be evolving in phases.

**Lead experience is not required, a strong Engineer who wants to pursue Design, Architecture or Lead experience would be well suited for this role as you will train with a Lead and ramp you up over 6-12months. The above responsibilities are where we intend this role will be after ramp up, but strong development skills coupled with a strong understanding of data and Azure will make you a good fit to start this position. They intend for it to go full time after so preference is for candidates who are open to that after the contract.

Core office days are Mondays and the first Friday of each month.

Strong understanding of Azure Cloud platform and how it works/add-ons/intricacies

 Purview

 Development and Engineering background - dont need to be a designer, or a lead or have that experience, just an interest in pursuing it

Strong communication skills and ability to work with various teams, executives, vendors, etc. Solution Design experience
