Job Description

Manulife’s Global Sustainability team is looking for a Senior Analyst, Sustainability and Climate Data who will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on the organization's sustainability, greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sustainability data and greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting, the GHG Protocol, and the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) methodology. The Senior Analyst will play a meaningful role in helping the company monitor, measure, and manage its carbon footprint in line with sustainability goals and industry standards. In this role, you will join a wonderful team of diverse sustainability and social impact professionals, working with colleagues across the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Collecting, consolidating, analyzing, and reporting on the company's scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions data

  • Developing and maintaining carbon accounting controls and processes, including automation

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant environmental regulations and standards

  • Providing insights and recommendations to sustainability leadership based on carbon accounting data

  • Keeping informed of industry developments and standard methodologies in carbon accounting and reporting

  • Supporting the organization's sustainability reporting efforts (CDP, S&P, MSCI), including progress against climate targets

  • Assist in ongoing maintenance of sustainability data management system, updating indicator protocols to ensure data consistency and finding opportunities for improvement

  • Support the annual social, governance and climate data third-party assurance process

Requirements:

  • Post secondary education in sustainability, environmental science, accounting, finance, or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in carbon accounting, environmental management, or related fields

  • Expertise in GHG protocol and PCAF methodology

  • Consistent track record of leading carbon accounting and reporting initiatives

  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., CDP, ISSB, OSFI B15)

  • Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities

  • Strong people skills with ability to develop and maintain positive relationships internally and externally

  • Excellent project management ability, multi-tasking and time management skills.

  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerBI and Alteryx or other relevant data analytics tools an asset

  • Experience working at a financial institution an asset

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$70,350.00 CAD - $117,250.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
