Job Description:

The Financial Crimes Response Product Owner I is responsible to ensure relative development teams (pod) are creating value for our stakeholders across the organization through the delivery of customer-focused product increments. This entails aligning with other Financial Crimes Response Engineering and Product teams and senior management to follow a product vision, creating and maintaining a prioritized product backlog, managing delivery blockers, continuously assessing customer feedback.

The Product Owner I should always be considering how to maximize value, assessing how the product or the delivery process can be continuously improved, contributes to a positive work environment and ensures that work embodies the Agile principles of transparency, collaboration, and engagement.

Lead and oversee the end-to-end delivery of requirements throughout the lifecycle of large scale/complex projects or programs requiring a cohesive approach to broad business solutions with full traceability to realize project benefits. Provides advisory/leadership direction and guidance to assigned Business Analyst resources at all levels, stakeholders and executives of the projects and/or program across multiple Lines of Businesses (LoBs).

Financial Crimes Response - Case Management Product team

Leverage industry leading technologies to enable various Line of businesses to respond to fraud and financial crime events

Enable Case Management tools and capabilities to optimize and improve business operational efficiency, reduce loss and risk exposure and improving colleague and customer experience

Key mandates are as follows-

Deliver scalable, reliable and robust products

Provide legendary user experience through process optimization and data aggregation

Continuously improve operational efficiencies by systemic automation and integrations

Job Requirements

  • Act as a business lead and functional business specialist; provides input and executes on strategies, roadmaps, forecasts and manages relationships with technology, business consumers

  • Key subject matter expert professional role requiring substantial knowledge / expertise in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas

  • Accountable for specialized product development support based on sound product expertise and knowledge of Agile/Scrum processes, roles and practices

  • Integrates knowledge of the enterprise sub-function’s or business line’s overarching strategy in developing solutions across multiple functions or operations

  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and the industry environment, recommends course of action and best practices to improve products, processes or services

  • Leads and integrates cross-function understanding within their own field of specialty, and /or projects with significant resource requirements, risk and / or complexity

  • Solves or may lead others to solve complex problems; leads efforts or partners with others to develop new solutions

  • Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify solutions

  • Impacts the achievement of sub-function or business line objectives within the area they are accountable for

  • Communicates difficult concepts; converts information to compelling business context and advice; influences and gains alignment across increasingly senior stakeholders

  • Works autonomously as the lead and guide others within area of expertise

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree and / or product certificate

  • 7+ years relevant business experience

  • 3-5 years Product Owner or Agile related delivery experience

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience considered an asset, preferred

  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications or experience operating in scaled agile delivery considered an asset

  • Fraud Management, GSI, AML or Insider Risk Management experience

  • Case Management experience

  • Jira, JTMF and Confluence experience
