Position Description
Marnie's Studio Assistant will assist in the creation of live and pre-recorded television and media with the purpose of improving SickKids patient and family experience both within and outside of the hospital. In addition, this person will maintain excellent organization and maintenance of all content and equipment. They will also create positive therapeutic relationships with patients and families interacting with the programming and utilizing the Family Spaces.
Here's What You'll Get To Do:
· Shooting, editing, and creating videos, photos and graphics for internal television channel and YouTube
· Edit live recorded shows into content appropriate for replays on hospital's closed-circuit children's tv channel
· Aid in the research, planning, and production of content for live interactive children's shows (kahoot trivia, craft shows, karaoke shows, game shows, bingo etc.)
· Host live shows, and assist with show running tasks
· Assist in maintaining and updating YouTube channel
· Assist in maintaining, updating, and reporting of content played on two in-house closed-circuit television channels
· Interact with SickKids patients and families in-person and via live tv programming
Here's What You'll Need:
· Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field: Child Life, video production, television production, media studies
· High level of creativity and understanding of children's entertainment
· Experience working with children, preferably in a healthcare setting
· Fluent on both MAC and PC operating systems
· Proficient in video and still image production and editing (e.g., Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, Compressor, Adobe Creative Cloud, After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom)
· Strong knowledge of video conferencing technology including the Zoom platform.
· Ability to support and coach colleagues and partners with all levels of experience using excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Organized, attention to detail, and excellent creative problem-solving skills
· Tactful, diplomatic, and patient
· Motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative to produce results
· Excellent organizational/time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities
· Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.
Skills or Experience Desired:
· On air presentation skills
· Experience managing social media platforms and tracking social media metrics.
· Knowledge of children's development and healthcare experience
