Job Description

We are seeking a Manager to work collaboratively with a highly talented team to oversee the various accounting functions within Restaurant Brands International Inc. ["RBI"] (including iconic brands such Tim Hortons, Burger King and Popeyes). This individual will be a part of the Record to Report Tower in Global Business Services ["GBS"] and has full responsibility over the RBI's accounting processes within Lease Accounting. The role will involve oversight of various accounting functions and the coordination of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. The role oversees Lease accounting, Fixed Assets and Revenue Recognition accounting, as well as conduct and lead meetings to ensure alignment and progress with internal teams. This position provides the opportunity to gain broad experience in accounting operations, financial reporting and corporate accounting. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic working environment and has a passion for undertaking process improvement projects in a wide spectrum of areas (e.g. IT, Technical Accounting, SOX).

Day to Day:

-Oversee 1 direct report

• Training to look over leases. Table & income leases

• Testing and preparing reports (Standard process - understanding standards in and out)

• Managing the Offshore team - Revenue recognition (ASC 606)

• Fixed Assets

• Managing or having portfolio recognition (What can be capitalized and what cannot)

• Great understanding of accounting to be a backup for the offshore team whenever they need to be supported

• Onboarding of Firehouse subs - supporting this

• Creative financial set ups

• Understanding the differences between tangibles

Skills and Requirements

-5 years of experience as a manager

-Accountant fundamentals specializing in Lease Accounting

-Experience with lease accounting software such as Lucernex or CoStar -Proficiency in SAP for general accounting null
