Canadian Tire Financial Analyst -Treasury RM in Toronto, Ontario

What you'll do

The Treasury Analyst will support and assist Treasury Risk Team in managing the foreign exchange requirements for the various business units under Canadian Tire Corporation (CTC). You will be responsible for monitoring macro-economic developments and provide recommendations to hedge any exposures that are derived from financial markets. You are a team player, results driven, and a relationship builder at your core.

  • Assist in the management and execution of the company’s foreign exchange hedging programs

  • Assist in the management and execution of the company’s day-to-day foreign exchange cash requirements

  • Monitor macro-economic developments, and provide analysis and recommendations to assist in mitigating the risks to the company that are derived from financial markets

  • Update foreign exchange exposure forecast, and identify any material changes

  • Liaise with bank trading partners for trade execution, settlement and rectify any issues that arise during the trade cycle

  • Prepare ad-hoc macroeconomic reports for various stakeholders within the organization

  • Establish relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders (banking partners etc.) that fosters a positive image for the company

  • Support the Treasury team to meet month-end reporting requirements

  • Support the Treasury team to meet quarter-end reporting requirements

  • Support the Treasury Cash Operations on an as needed basis

  • Support the Manager/AVP to lead identified opportunities to conclusion, ad-hoc analysis/documentation requests, and on-going corporate initiatives

What you bring

  • Experience in the execution of capital market transactions, notably foreign exchange

  • Experience working in a Cash Management, Treasury, or Financial Planning & Analysis role

  • Understanding of hedging products (spot, forward, swaps and options)

  • Understanding of macroeconomic fundamentals and the key drivers that affect asset classes, notably foreign exchange

  • University degree or College diploma in Commerce, Finance, or equivalent experience supported by ongoing education

  • Able to work independently and cross functionally to drive problem resolution

  • Proven organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage complex data streams and integrate multiple inputs

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Solid quantitative and analytical skills

  • Understanding of accounting concepts is considered an asset

  • Certified Treasury Professional is considered an asset as is expertise with treasury risk management systems
