POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting duties to support our fast-growing organization. With a focus on analyzing and maintaining the organization's financial records, the successful candidate will prepare financial statements, budgets & tax filings, provide strategic analysis to guide financial decisions and lead a growing & evolving finance team with excellence. This position works in a fast paced and changing environment and requires a positive attitude and willingness to learn and assist as needed.
TEAM & DEPARTMENT
The Director of Finance will report to the President while working alongside our Senior Leadership team to collaborate on key company-wide projects and organizational objectives.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all matters related to accounting and finance
Provide timely and detailed analysis of budgets, forecasts and financial trends
Manage full-cycle accounting and general ledger
Prepare and post month-end journal entries, as required
Bank reconciliations and posting entries, as required
Manage intercompany receivables and payables
Oversee payroll process via UKG
Prepare year-end accounting files and associated schedules
Oversee daily, weekly and monthly KPI reporting
Preparation and analysis of month end statements and associated entries
Assist with Government tax reporting
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
Deliver key results to special projects
Development and implementation of related systems for finance & accounting practices
Mentor team members to ensure delivery of accurate and timely financial information
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years’ experience in financial analysis/budgeting/forecasting
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and practices with experience in hospitality
Experience in preparing corporate tax returns, HST returns and payroll related filings
Experience in preparing consolidated, multi-company financial statements
In-depth experience in risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
Proficient in MS Office (specifically Excel)
An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
Excellent communication skills
Keen eye for detail
Organizational and leadership skills
BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
