Department Overview

Environment, Social & Governance Credit Risk Management (ESG-CRM) under Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) is responsible for the identification, assessment, remediation and reporting of climate risk within TDBG's credit portfolio. The group is accountable for ensuring that the risks associated with climate change are incorporated into the broader assessment of how TD's credit products and exposures fit within TD's Risk Appetite. ESG-CRM provides strategic guidance, advice and independent challenge to support TD in achieving its climate objectives in the broader context of meeting its strategic objectives.

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, ESG-CRM, the Credit Risk Manager will support implementing and executing the strategy to incorporate climate risk considerations into credit process. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment for an emerging high-profile area of focus and will be part of a learning culture where ongoing development is encouraged.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Manage the Environmental & Social Reputational Risk Assessment (ESRA) Process for material lending transactions In TD Securities, Commercial Banking, and TDBNA. This includes reviewing ESRA submissions to assess the degree of risk, providing advice and effective challenge to the businesses and providing recommendations on whether escalations to Reputational Risk Committees are needed;

  • Support the development and the implementation of new enterprise-wide platform for ESG-related assessments of non-retail credit transactions;

  • Create periodic monitoring and review for risk oversight processes, and to lead further enhancements as required;

  • Support ad-hoc deliverables and initiatives related to climate risk management on TD's lending business.

Additional Information

  • Business credit management, ESG, and/or risk management experience are considered assets
