What You’ll Be Doing

The Consultant, Enterprise Continuity, Protection and Response provides support, coordination and highly specialized expertise for incident/crisis management and business continuity management, which includes various project implementations that are necessarily to strengthen the overall resilience for our bank. This role also involves the development and maintenance of tools (e.g. Archer, Everbridge Mass Notification System, SharePoint, databases, website, MS Office templates); responsibility for the Toronto Business Recovery Centre (TBRC); and the development and maintenance of incident/crisis management tools. The position also contributes to the ongoing design, maintenance and cost effectiveness of the overall enterprise Crisis Management/Business Incident Management/Business Continuity Management Programs, recognizing the increasing importance of the management of business interruption risk in the environments in which CIBC operates. Responsibilities include contributions to operational and simulation testing. In the event of a major business interruption, the incumbent serves as an important member of the Enterprise Business Continuity Management (EBCM) team in the event of an incident.

Y ou’l l have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You’ll Succeed

  • SME Support - provides support, coordination and highly specialized expertise for incident/crisis management and business continuity management, which includes project or task force-like recovery services that is necessarily to strengthen the overall resilience for our bank. Undertakes BCM support role in the event of an incident or crisis. Provides crisis management support, and manages specific recovery activities as designated and required.

  • Maintain Databases - Maintains and supports the central information databases and incident management tools for the enterprise BCM Program, to ensure the availability of critical information and electronic reporting tools for decision-making purposes in the event of disaster. Designs, builds, streamlines and maintains reports, templates and documentation required to support the crisis/incident/BCM Programs. Maintains the Toronto Business Recovery Centre (TBRC) at a level which will ensure TBRC is in a permanent state of readiness should an incident occur. Participates in the design and implementation of corporate simulation exercises, call tree and other forms of exercises, on an enterprise basis as required, to ensure an ongoing capability exists to meet CIBC’s overall recovery objectives.

  • Reporting - Design/Build/Streamline report templates and regularly generate the following reports: Monthly and Weekly Dashboard. Gather information, complete analysis and generate the Dashboard, which reports the team’s milestones/accomplishments to senior management on a monthly basis.

  • Team Player & Leadership – Provide thought leadership and guidance to your direct team, stakeholders and working team members.
