Manulife Cloud Platform Engineer - GenAI Tools in Toronto, Ontario

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will build, code, test, and maintain high-quality software, participate in Agile sprints, and contribute to the success of our team. You will work closely with information architects and data scientists to develop, maintain, and test data pipelines, application frameworks, and infrastructure for data generation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Development:

  • Build, code, test, and maintain high-quality software.

  • Translate user requirements into software requirements.

  • Build and code moderately complex software to specifications and standards.

  • Contribute code at a business unit level with a positive impact on organizational entities.

  • Agile and DevOps:

  • Participate in Agile sprints and ceremonies to support rapid iteration and development.

  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features.

  • Cloud Platform Management:

  • Initialize and manage cloud platforms with Azure,.

  • Develop, maintain, and test data pipelines, application frameworks, and infrastructure for data generation.

  • Collaboration and Contribution:

  • Work closely with information architects and data scientists.

  • Participate in functional demos utilizing new technologies.

  • Collaborate with team members, participate in code reviews, and share skills and methods.

  • Continuous Learning:

  • Stay abreast of developments in your technical discipline and recognize and translate these to your working environment.

  • Experiment with emerging technologies and understand how they will impact future developments.

Job Requirements:

  • Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with modern software architectures and API-driven development REST and GraphQL.

  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle.

  • Familiar with scripting languages and platform technologies such as Python and Javascript.

  • Familiarity with database technologies such as MongoDB, Postgres, and Hadoop

  • Familiarity with technologies such as Terraform, Ansible., Databricks and PowerBI.

  • Cloud Platform Experience:

  • Experience initializing and managing cloud platforms with Azure.

  • Experience with Metrix Collection.

  • Agile and DevOps:

  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.

  • Collaborative attitude, willingness to work with team members, and ability to coach and share skills and methods.

  • Problem-Solving and Organizational Skills:

  • Good organizational and problem-solving abilities that enable you to manage through creative abrasion.

  • Constantly learn from both success and failure.

Salary range is expected to be between

$74,270.00 CAD - $137,930.00 CAD
